T-MAG - the latest addition to the Alpha family

Thu, Sep 25, 2008

"No ordinary tee-slotted table and certainly no ordinary Magnetic Chuck" says Marty Murawski, VP of Sales & Marketing. "Using tee-slots on a magnetic chuck face is not new; we (and others) have been doing it for years". Alpha claims (along with the patent application) that the difference with this system is that it has been designed around the needs of a tee-slotted table first, which means that it must be stable and accurate and not dependent on any other device (traditionally, magnets are clamped to an existing table for their accuracy). Secondly, the inherent magnetic circuit has been designed to minimize any stray magnetism from the table. Even in the ON position, the tee-slots and the body of the table are free of magnetism. This unique control of magnetic flux still provides a very powerful clamp force magnetically which allows the user to benefit from greater access to the workpiece. Alpha is convinced that this new development will enable a better ability for the machinist to appreciate the advantages magnetic workholding has against past methods.

IMTS 2008 - huge success

Thu, Sep 25, 2008

Visitors to the Alpha booth were treated to a display of their lifting and workholding product line this past September. Without exception the interest was high due to the fact that all products were operational and available for practical demonstrations.

Alpha also launched their new product "T-MAG" a revolutionary workholding system that combines conventional workholding via a tee-slotted surface with a new permanent-electro magnet design.

All products on display (and more) were sold off the booth.
